5 Days Tanzania Family Safari Holiday

This 5 Days Tanzania Family safari takes you to three of the most famous safari parks in Northern Tanzania: Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. With this Tanzania safari, you can witness Africa’s Big 5 (lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinos) and other animal species at these national parks. Additionally, you’ll get to see the extraordinary yearly migration of wildebeests into the Serengeti.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
You will be picked up from the airport by Salenge Adventure representative, who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha, where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.

Day 2: Arusha-Tarangire National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8;00am and take you to a very special safari park in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The Tarangire safari park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent), which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife, ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, African elephants. In fact, Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. In the afternoon, we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park-Serengeti National Park
There was a reason that “The Lion King” creators drew their inspiration from the Serengeti, and today you will get to discover why. Renowned for its’ large lion population, this may be the best opportunity to get a great view of a Lion Pride in their natural habitat, as the gazelles, zebras, and buffalo are abundant in this region. Come during the right season and witness the birth of the wildebeest calves, where they will begin their annual migration to Kenya at the end of May. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of games drives, your lodge awaits.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park—Ngorongoro Crater
In this day, we suggest a very early wake-up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. It’s really one of the most beautiful experiences you can have. After the game drive, we return to the lodge for a rewarding brunch and then we’ll proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the 8th wonder of the Natural World. The crater spreads for 102 square . miles and has 2,000-foot-high walls, making it virtually a Noah’s ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black Rhino. The concentration of African wildlife is the greatest in the continent. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World.

You will reach Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast, we descend back into the crater for an early morning game drive, hoping the cool morning air allows for us to see some active wildlife. As the temperatures rise, we may head to the hippo pool to see these spectacular creatures enjoying a dip to beat the heat. As lunch approaches, we make our way to the picnic site on the lake, taking in the spectacular views and grabbing a bite to eat before you head out on the final game drive. After our last glimpse of the park, we head towards the crater rim to make the journey back to Arusha for the evening.
